Reno is a high-desert city break where the Truckee River, MidTown murals and meals, casino-era energy, well-suited indoor culture, and quick access to Tahoe create a much good trip when you choose a city weekend or a mountain day instead of forcing both into every day.

Reno: Do not treat Tahoe as a casual add-on after a downtown museum day. Give it the clearest forecast and a full day. Reno works good in zones. Riverwalk, Midtown, south Reno, and the mountain roads all ask for different timing.
